Connect my tokens

Your numbers stay on your computer until you connect it. Nothing reaches the public leaderboard until you release it.

Continue on your computer

Reading this on a phone or another device? Copy these steps and open them on the computer that has your AI tools.

Connect my tokens to boardfella

1. On your computer, open a terminal and run: npx boardfella@1.5.22 connect
2. Once the helper has read the logs on that computer, your browser opens it at http://127.0.0.1:3847/connect (or the address the terminal prints). The first time this can take a few minutes. If it does not open, open that address yourself on that computer.
3. The helper reads the logs of supported AI tools on that computer and shows your own numbers first. You do not need an account for that.
4. To publish, the helper asks you to connect. Sign in on https://boardfella.com with the account you want your numbers to belong to.
5. Compare the device name and the code on the website with the ones in the helper. Approve only if they match. After that, the computer sends its daily usage privately to My usage on the website.
6. Before anything goes to the leaderboard, check the preview in the helper. Compare it with what you expect to publish.

Nothing goes to the leaderboard until you release the numbers in the helper.

What the local helper is

The boardfella helper runs on your computer. It reads the logs of supported AI coding tools on that computer and shows your own numbers first. You do not need an account for that.

What publishing means

If you choose to publish, the helper sends aggregated token figures per period, tool and model to this website. It never sends prompts, answers, source code, file paths or project names. The website works out a cost estimate from the tokens and the model name.

Whether your name shows on the public leaderboard depends on your profile settings.

One boardfella account is one person. Shared team accounts are not supported in this version.

Three separate decisions

  1. Website account. You sign in or create an account on this website. This is only a login.
  2. Confirm this computer. You compare the device name and the code on this website with the helper, then approve or decline. This connects the computer to your account. After that, its daily usage (tokens per tool and model per day) goes privately to My usage, where only you see it. Nothing goes to the leaderboard yet.
  3. Release concrete numbers. In the helper you see a preview of exactly what would go to the leaderboard, tick a box and press the button. Only then are numbers sent there.
